Bruny Island offers tantalizing locally produced food and premium quality wine. You will find hand made fudge, chocolate, truffles, berries, cheese, beer and fresh oysters.

22km return Easy to Medium Bike Ride, this is the shortest and easiest Bruny tour taking you along the Missionary Road passing ‘The Duckpond’, Simmonds Bay and into the village of Barnes Bay. At lovely Barnes Bay you will find a sheltered cove with picnic table, rubbish bin and Jetty where fishing is permitted.
45km return Medium bike ride, mostly undulating well maintained dirt road. The tour takes you through the beautiful scenery of North Bruny Island with fine views over Storm Bay, The Iron Pot, Cape Roul and distant Tasman Island on route. Some hills involved, but plenty of opportunities to stop along the way and take in the scenic views. At Dennes Point is Jetty Café & Produce Store, Jetty with good fishing, public BBQ Facility and fabulous Nabraska Beach. On route is Bruny Island Quarantine Station, take a self guided tour of this unique heritage site. This is a quieter tour, most cars leaving the ferry head South.
Truganini Lookout, Neck Beach, Penguin Rookery and Camp.
50km return Medium ride, mostly on sealed roads with a few kilometers of good dirt along the Neck itself. A very pleasant day ride with Get Shucked Oysters, Bruny Island Cheese and Beer Co along with Bruny Island Honey on route. Hiring one of the ebikes makes this ride achievable to most levels of fitness. Once at the Neck, the lookout has a sensational view, very popular for “selfies” with the narrow Isthmus as a backdrop. To see the penguins you need to be there as darkness falls, there is good camping at the Neck Camp Ground which is situated right on the edge of a wonderful sweeping ocean beach. (Bruny Island Cycle Tours and Hire offer pre set camp and luggage transfer)
37km One Way Medium to Hard, most of the way shares the same road as Adventure Bay, sealed road with dirt for couple of km across the Neck. Allonah provides comfortable Accomodation options, meals at the Hotel Bruny are superb. Alonnah is a good stop over on route to the great ‘South Bruny National Park’, Cape Bruny Lighthouse and Cloudy Bay.
Hard, sections of sealed and dirt roads, visiting the Cape Bruny Lighthouse is a minimum 130km return trip, unless you’re an experienced cyclist we recommend this tour to be assisted. It’s an amazing place, the Lighthouse conducts guided tours which are a must, splendid views and museum. Head down to the Cape via Alonnah and return via Adventure Bay is a good way to go. At least three or four nights are required. Accommodation, luggage transfer and Pre set camps are available.
37km One Way Medium, mostly sealed road with dirt for couple of km across the Neck, plenty of places to stop along the way (House of Whiskey, Get Shucked, Bruny Cheese and Beer, Honey, Fudge and Berries) once arriving, you may find staying a few days and exploring the area irresistible. Adventure Bay has a general store, bowls club, Bligh museum and Pennicott Journeys. If your observant and a little lucky, you might get the unique opportunity of spotting one of the famous white wallabies. There are some great rides and walks in the area and Adventure Bay offers splendid accommodation options.
Tour #6 Cloudy Bay:
Medium to hard, sections of sealed and dirt roads, visiting Cloudy Bay is a minimum 120km return trip, unless you’re an experienced cyclist we recommend this tour be assisted. Incorporate a round trip taking in The Neck, Alonnah and Adventure Bay over 3 or 4 or more nights. Accommodation, Luggage Transfer and Camp Pre Set are available.
Medium to hard, about 200km round trip, sealed, dirt and less maintained road surfaces are encountered, some steep climbs and descents, by taking your time this is achievable by moderately fit people taking at least four or five nights. Tour Barnes Bay, Dennes Point, The Neck, Alonnah, Lunawanna, Cape Bruny Lighthouse, Cloudy Bay and Adventure Bay. The ultimate Bruny tour.
