Dennes Point lies at the headland of North Bruny Island, the beautiful Nabraska Beach affords beach walking, swimming and fishing, the sun baths this area. Spectacular views of D’Entrecasteaux, Bull Bay, Betsy Island, Storm Bay and Iron Pot Light House are had along the way.

Sealed / Dirt, mostly well maintained dirt roads, 1.5km climb as you first leave the ferry terminal, then mostly undulating with several 100 to 150m climbs. Fabulous views

The lovely Mermaid Café is located on the Kettering side ferry terminal and a Kiosk on the Bruny Roberts Point side. Along the route ‘House of Whisky’ (Link) is 3.4km from the Ferry terminal and offers a wide selection of food and beverages, at Dennes Point The Jetty Cafe offer delightful service.

Bruny Island Cycle Tours and Hire are located near the ferry ticketing booth at Kettering Tasmania, 35km south of Hobart taking the Channel Highway.    A bus service runs from Hobart.  Click on this link to view the Metro Hobart bus time table.

Bruny Island Traffic flows in waves coinciding with the ferry schedule, most traffic heads to the spectacular and hilly South Bruny Island leaving North Bruny with a very low traffic flow. Barnes Bay, Bruny Island Barnes Bay, Bruny IslandBoard the Ferry at Kettering, on disembarking at Bruny Island follow the B66 main road south for approx 7.09klm, turn left onto Missionary Rd and follow this into Barnes Bay.

Dennes Point, Bruny IslandRelax at the public Jetty. From Barnes Bay follow Church Rd the short distance to the intersection where you turn left onto Barnes Bay Rd, follow to the intersection and turn left onto C625 heading for Dennes Point, follow this main road until arriving at Dennes Point, relaxing at the Café and strolling the beautiful beach are highly recommended.

Next follow Nebraska Rd along the foreshore, Nebraska Rd turns into Killora Rd and takes you all the way back to the junction with C625 where you turn right heading back to the B66 junction where you turn right again and follow this back to the Ferry Terminal.
